The apostle Peter often has a reputation for being a little bit rash and sticking his foot in his mouth. While that may indeed be a fair assessment, I can’t help but identify with him at times. In Matthew 18:21, he asks Jesus a question we’ve probably all thought at some point: “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?”

I’m with Peter on this one—wondering how many times I need to forgive someone before I’m “off the hook.”

Jesus’s answer to the question is stunning.
